More Moving In

The moving van arrived with the rest of my stuff! (Translation: successful importation of the LJ contents I hadn't already cut&pasted.)

Why, yes, I do like it here. Especially, I like that I'm not feeling the occasional cold draft of user-hostility.

I must say, I'm really liking the importing option here. Much easier to use than the whole "Export your content as an XML file and blah blah blah" thing. That was torture.

The ease of importation is why I used the "moving van" metaphor (other methods being approximately equivalent to rounding up suckers who'll do anything for pizzafriends and loading up the half-ton pickup umpteen times).

Hi backatcha, and no worries about the PM; content trumps speed in my books. (As a perusal of my blog output clearly shows!)

In total agreement with content trumping speed; for me it's hard to formulate my thoughts correctly, so it takes me a while to put up a good post. (Part of the reason I like things like Twitter or Tumblr -- it doesn't have to be deep, or meaningful, or even worth reading -- just a place for my brain to vomit.)

For me XML exportation to Wordpress was equivalent to loading up mom's Volvo station wagon a thousand times, running on 2 hours of sleep and 6 shots of coffee because I didn't start packing until the night before -- which was my moving experience at the beginning of this month. ^_^ Don't remember the last time we hired a moving van (if, indeed, we ever have), but it's got to feel as good as the small amount of work I just did on my shiny new journal.
